What's your favorite saying?

What is the one word that perfectly describes your day today?
submitted by [this is connie]New.
What are you most looking forward to in August?
Moving to a new town, with a new job, a new school, and new people to meet. Of course, I don't expect it to be a perfect town, a perfect job, and I seriously doubt I'll meet perfect people, but it can't be any worse than where I am now. Two weeks and counting, by the way.
My plans for Peniscola thus far? Well, pretty much, work enough to save up money for new things (guitar, cymbals, and motorcycle to name a few), go to school and finally figure out what I want to do for serious, and try to start a band of some sort. Hopefully, I'll accomplish most of those things, and to be completely honest, if I could just figure out what I wanted to do, then I wouldn't even mind it if I didn't accomplish the other two goals.
Down to the abyss that I've left up town
I need a fix cause I'm going down
How would you like to be remembered?
Submitted by Paulha66.
For a long time. If no one remembers you, did you ever really exist?
What compliment are you most often given?
It's usually that people like my green shoes. If it's not about my shoes, then it's usually about either my drumming or my computer fixing/networking knowledge.
Speaking about drumming, I actually got told yesterday by the best bassist and the best pianist in my jazz class that I'm the best drummer, so that was cool. They also want me to start practicing with them, and then go to some gigs with them. Sweet! Playing in a jazz combo is a super easy way to make some moneys (especially if you play wedding receptions). Not to mention, I'll actually get to keep the majority of the money I make this time around, instead of it going into my band account (which was lame by the way).
As far as the job search goes, I haven't heard back from anywhere I applied at the other day, so I'm going to call all of them back today sometime. I've got to take my sister down to Blue Water Bay for an orthodontist appointment, so I may swing by someplaces down there and get job applications. I might even head over to Destin and apply at some places around there, but I'll have to find a spare $2.50 lying around somewhere.
The majority of my computer stuff should be in either by today or tomorrow, so that's cool. It still sucks that I haven't been able to find the CPU I want anywhere though. I hope that some places get them in stock next week at least. I mean, Newegg should at least get some more in, they're a pretty big store. Also, Matt Stewart was supposed to have sent me some spare RAM he had lying around, but it hasn't gotten here yet either. I'm sure it'll get here before I get my CPU though.
The new Smash Brothers game comes out in a couple of weeks (a week in a half?), so I'll have that to keep me busy if my computer isn't assembled by then. It'll probably keep me busy even if it is assembled by then though.
What do you do with the cards and letters you receive? Do you keep them all, just keep the photos, throw them away?
Inspired by jacolily.
I usually keep them for a few weeks and then throw them away. Although, I was going through some old storage boxes (read: shoeboxes) and found some Christmas cards from when I was in middle school. If I get a photo in a card or a letter, then I usually keep it though.
I've been at the college since 11am. I had my first class (Music Appreciciation) at 11am and my next class is at 6:30pm. It kind of sucks having the huge break in the middle of the day, but I can't take any other classes in between because I have my drum and jazz classes on Wednesdays in between. I can forsee a lot of boring Mondays in my future. After my music class, I had lunch, then I've been in the libraray for the last 5 hours or so. I did just get up to stretch my legs and walk around the campus some. I tried calling Mike and Marie and Chris, but I guess they're all in a class or something? I'm not sure. I should at least see them during Astronomy though. I hope I do. Otherwise, I won't have a ride home. It's been very difficult to get ahold of any of them as of late, and that's all I'll say about that.
What did I do in the library for 5 hours? Well, I watched season 1 of Chappelle's show, checked my email, read some news, listened to some music, and played some Starcraft. Speaking of which, I'm going to have to practice that or something. Koreans are tough shit at Starcraft. Also, I learned that the webpage blocker is only up until around 3 or 4 o'clock, and I figure that it's because the collegiate high school gets out around then. Makes sense I guess, I always wondered why they blocked webpages at a [community] college in the first place.
I've been lugging my laptop around and I think I'm going to have to get a better backpack if I'm going to keep this up. If I don't, I think I'll end up throwing my back out or something.
I guess that's all for now. Nothing else has happened recently.

If you could perform alongside any artist (actor, dancer, musician, etc.), who would it be, and what would you
perform?
Submitted by Kristin.
I would love to perform with Astronautalis. The dude is amazing and it seems like no one knows about him. Although Iknow it would be weird to have Rhetorical
I just got a haircut. Nothing special about it. I've been fervently debating whether or not to grow my hair out again. I think I should just because now that Chris and I both have short hair, Mom and Dad have nothing to complain about when we're hanging out. For their sakes' I might just do it. Not to mention, apparently bitches love my long hair.

Ringtones: What's yours and how often do you change it?
Submitted by enrico.
Mine is a very boring, standard ringtone. I had Lamb of God as my ringtone on my old phone, but all of the songs I downloaded onto it did not get transferred over to my new one. I would get a new one for my phone, but I don't feel like paying for one, and the hacking community for the phone I have isn't very strong.
Been in the house all day today, so I'm getting a case of cabin fever. I hope I'm able to get out sometime tomorrow, and do something/anything. Aside from Marie coming over briefly to print some stuff on Friday, I haven't seen or heard from anyone all weekend. We all have tomorrow off from school though, so maybe we can all get together or something.
Yesterday, I went to my sister's cheerleading competition. I figured (correctly) that if I didn't I'd spend my whole weekend inside. It wasn't so bad. It was about as interesting as I thought it was going to be. I had to wake up at 6:00AM though, so that sucked.
I've been doing some working out lately. It's not anything special, just some crunches and push-ups every night. I figure that I might as well be proactive with all of this free time I have. I also cleaned up my room and dusted some to go along with that. I've been thinking about moving some stuff around in my room too, so if you come over sometime and everything is completely different, don't be surprised.
I watched Live Free or Die Hard the other night, and I thought it was pretty good. I wanted to see the unrated version, but I couldn't find a download for it, so I watched the theatrical. After watching it, I'm not really sure what the unrated would add to it, aside from maybe stronger language, and more blood. I also watched The Bourne Ultamatum. It was pretty good too, but I hadn't seen the second Bourne movie, so it kept feeling like I was missing out on some things.
We went to my uncle's house Friday night for dinner, and while we were there he gave us a DVD/VCR combo he got for $5 at a hotel sale. Seeing as how we already had one in the living room, my parents gave it to me. I do need a DVD player since I've been using my PS2 for the last couple of years, and not having a remote sucks, not to mention the sound quality on the PS2 is really crappy too. However, I can't seem to get my universal remote to work with it (it didn't come with one). It didn't come with cables either, so I need to pick up some before I can even watch anything on it anyways.
As for my music video, this time it's the greatest song ever, by the greatest band ever, In the Fade, by Queens of the Stone Age. If you don't like this song you are most likely mentally retarded and should probably have that checked out. Consider watching this your form of a test.
Ain't gonna worry, just live 'til you die
I wanna drown with no-where to fall
Into the arms of someone
There's nothin' to say that I know
You live 'til you die
Live 'til you die, I know

Which TV show never "jumped the shark"?
Submitted by healthypanda.
Well, The Office, 30 Rock, and Mine Name is Earl haven't jumped the shark as far as I can tell. They're all only in their first few seasons though, so it's still highly possible that they could. Scrubs hasn't jumped the shark yet, and they're in their last season, so things are looking good. However, since J.D. broke up with his baby mama and Elliot broke up with Keith, they might get together in the end, and then the show would jump the shark. That 70's Show was doing great up until the last season. They even did an episode where they made fun of the infamous shark jumping. Then Topher Grace and Ashton Kutcher had to go and be big Hollywood cool guys and leave the show. I think the last season would have still been good if they had just left the new guy out. I mean, in the last couple episodes he's not around and it's great. I think Danny Masterson and Laura Prepon could have carried the show, but whatever.
Woke up and Captain D's for breakfast with my aunt and grandma. I think I'm going to start on my religion take-home test sometime today. Garrett said it was harder than the other tests, but I have the power of the internets so it's all good.
I took a biology test yesterday and despite hardly studying I think I might have puled a C on it. Thank God there's only one more test and then the final. I really want this semester to end. Too much dadburn studying for biology. I think next semester I'm going to be heavy into music classes to see if I might want to do music producing/sound engineering for a living. I got invited by my drum instructor to join his super secret, invite only jazz improv class. I'm thinking I might just do it. I'll probably take drumming again too, the guy's pretty cool, and it's an easy elective.
I think I'm going with my family tonight to eat Mongolian style beef at my uncle's house. That might be good. Last time I was there, my uncle offered me a beer. If he does tonight I might take it just for kicks. I don't know what Dad'll say, but I don't think Mom really cares.
I think I'm going to start putting a music video at the end of my posts from now on. Well, maybe not every post, but most posts. Anyways, enjoy some Death From Above 1979.

Music-wise, what was the first 45, single or download you bought?
Submitted by Paddy Melt Wagon.
I think the first album I ever got was Weird Al Running with Scissors on audio cassette. The first CD I ever got was either Weird Al The Food Album or Smashmouth Astro Lounge. God that's embarrassing to admit. In my defense, I was 10 or 11 at the time, so I guess I liked music as immature as I was. The first record I ever bought was Blood Moutnain, so that's not quite as embarrassing.
Well, I'm sitting here waiting for dinner to get finished and not studying for my biology test tomorrow. Marie was supposed to come over after math, but I guess that fell through. Garrett was supposed to as well, but now that I think about it, I don't actually remember asking him if he was coming over. I think Dad's going to be pissed since he made a ton of food for the occasion. Since usually when they come over to study he doesn't know and we're just having left overs or something. I'm not sure how Marie is going to do on the test though since I have the biology book and she kind of needs that to answer the book questions.
I'm not too worried about the test, I went to a lecture yesterday about evolution and if I write a half page report on it, I get 10 points added to my test. Not to mention the professor drops our lowest test score and at the moment mine is only 78, so I figure I can take the hit if worse comes to worse.
