Quick pizblog update (I realized that despite making progress in pizza making, I had neglected to report on it).
My parents went out of town a couple weeks ago, and I made pizza pretty much every night. One was a failure, I tried a different sauce, but it ended up being bad. One was alright. Then I tried my hand at making my own dough from scratch. It ended up being too salty though, so it's back to the drawing board for now.
My parents came back from their trip with pizza making gifts though. They bought me a peel and some instant yeast (which I was having a very difficult time finding around here). Last week, I bought some tiles to use as a stone. Now all I have to do is wash them and get cooking. I've been kind of busy lately with work and school, but I think this weekend (maybe sooner in the week) I'm going to try and make some pizzas.
More as the story unfolds!
Well, I had a fun last week. Chris and Chance were in town, so I had some people to hang out with on the regular. I also bought Brawl for my Wii, so that consumed a lot of our time.
I would say that I spent a lot of time unlocking all of the characters/stages, but that would be a lie. It was actually mostly Chris and Chance. I'm not complaining though, the majority of the stuff you had to do was retarded (i.e. the Sub Space Emissary thing). If anyone wants to play online, then send me an email or something and I'll send you my friend code. I'm not very great right now though because I play mainly as Snake and he has a very steep learning curve, and I don't play nearly as often as I could. I am glad to finally dust off my Wii and put it to good use for the once.
Aside from Brawl, we mostly just hung around the house not doing much of anything, although we did go out to a few things here and there (like the MAN MAN show). I think that the upcoming week is going to be very dull compared to last week, but I guess it's expected. I figure if anything I'll just log some more playing time into Brawl.
The last couple of weeks I've gone out to Pandora's on the island to see my drum/jazz instructor's jazz band play. It was pretty cool the first time I went because I got to sit in for a song, but last week was kind of bad because me and Chris showed up late and no one from the class was there, so we only stuck around for a few songs then headed out. I don't think I'm going to make it out this week though because, I think, I have an astronomy test. It's not an especially hard class, but I have ended up missing all of the classes where we actually take notes, so that hasn't been too helpful. I guess I'll just get the notes I missed from Chris D. or something. I know the guy posts all of his power point slides online, so I could just hunt them down too.
I finally have my new computer up and running. It's pretty nice, but I'm only using a gig of RAM right now because one of the sticks I got from Matt was corrupted. Despite that, it's still running a quadcore processor, so it's really fast regardless. RAM is pretty cheap too, so I figure I'll just order another gig whenever I get some extra cash.
I'm thinking about going out to see Brian Posehn Friday in Tallahassee, but I guess that's really up to whether or not Garrett is going or if my dad will let me drive myself there (doubtful, he's been extra crazy lately). I'm not really going to get my hopes up (even though I'd really like to see him) because even if I do get to Tallahassee, there's still (apparently) a good chance that a plane or something is going to crash and take out all of the power around campus.
Recently (as in today), I've gotten the urge to make a really awesome pizza. I was mainly inspired by eating some relatively decent $5 from Little Ceasar and by a few clips of Alton Brown showing how he makes pizza. I think tomorrow while I have some free time I'm going to go out looking to buy a peel and a couple of unglazed tiles (to use as a makeshift pizza stone). After I acquire these two items, you're more than welcome to stop by my house and eat some of the reject pizzas that I make on my way to creating the perfect pizza.
Here is a song by the Extraordinaires. It is about a serial killer killing a family. The sound quality isn't super, but it's worth a listen regardless.
