I think this Vox whine-diary has run its course. I feel continually uninspired to use it. Vox has some issues that need to be worked out, much like myself, so I think it is best if we both part ways. I may end up blogging again somewhere else. I would probably bet on it, seeing as how I've had some form of a blog going on since I was 14. That's over half a decade of blogging. Yes, most of it was trite, and every time I read some of my older stuff I cringe and get embarrassed. That happens because I can't believe my writing, what I'm writing, and what I was like back then.

I'm pretty certain no one is going to miss me blogging because, in my six years of doing it, my readership has never actually expanded past my brother and a few other friends. I was never really worried about how many people read this because it was really just a place for me to vent or try to be funny or to put up some music I'd been feeling.

On that note, here is one last music video.

The only people for me are the mad ones, the ones who are mad to live, mad to talk, mad to be saved, desirous of everything at the same time, the ones that never yawn or say a commonplace thing, but burn, burn, burn like fabulous yellow roman candles exploding like spiders across the stars and in the middle you see the blue centerlight pop and everybody goes "Awww!"

I'm sitting up at 6:45AM reading On the Road because I am trying to reset my sleep schedule. I plan to stay up until 11:00PM or so and sleep until 11:00AM or so. Hopefully this works out for me. I'm thinking that I can probably do this naturally, seeing as how I woke up at 5:30PM yesterday, but I may end up brewing a pot of coffee. I think I'll also go out and buy some breakfast this morning because I always like to go do that when I'm able (since I'm usually not up early enough to).

We fumed and screamed in our mountain nook, mad drunken Americans in the mighty land. We were on the roof of America and all we could do was yell, I guess—across the night, eastward over the Plains, where somewhere an old man with white hair was probably walking toward us with the Word, and would arrive any minute and make us silent.

I had an okay time in Crestview. A better time than I had anticipated anyways. Christmas was rather sparse, but I'm not upset over it considering my parents pay for my apartment and car, just paid for my sisters 16th birthday party, and the economy is in the shitter. At any rate, I finally got some money to buy some more RAM for my computer, so I'm happy. Not to mention, I got a wok and a cookbook by Alton Brown, so I can maybe try my hand at some more different dishes than I have been cooking.

I experienced the most bizarre coincidence today. I was on Facebook earlier in the night and noticed that Chris Davis had mentioned to Porter that he was in Peniscola, at his brother's apartment. Since I haven't seen the guy in a while I told him that he should come over and hang out. I figured that he was probably somewhere relatively far away, and that he probably wouldn't be able to get here to hang out or vice versa, but as it turns out, his brother actually lives in the Foutains too. It was really weird how it played out online in conversation, and I'm sure I'm not translating that weirdness to here very well, but I assure you it was very odd. Anyways, we hung out and played Rock Band 2 and watched some of It's Always Sunny and had a pretty good time.

It is 7:00AM now and I getting tired. Hm. I may have to run up to the Hardee's down the road and have some coffee and breakfast.

I am back in Crestview for at least two days now. Hopefully, I can escape Friday or Saturday. Maybe I will run into some people I know while I am here? Hopefully not.

I am in town and the only people I care to hang out with are my girlfriend, my brother, and my roommates. All of whom I were hanging out with in Pensacola less than a day ago. I can't really think of anyone else I would want to see while I am here. Well, I might give Steven a call. Knowing me though, I will probably just grab my X-mas loot and leave as soon as possible.

Anyways, I am going to read some of On The Road,then go to bed.

I'm sitting here listening to some music, and I'm thinking I'm going to put together a list of my all-time favorite albums of all-time (subject to change as I listen to more, different, albums (that happens on a daily basis (usually))). Here we go, at 4 in the morning.

My top 10 albums (in no particular order):

Astronautalis - Mighty Ocean and Nine Dark Theaters
Modest Mouse - Good News for People Who Love Bad News
Weezer - Pinkerton
Motion City Soundtrack - Commit This to Memory
Queens of the Stone Age - Songs for the Deaf
Bright Eyes - I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning
Neutral Milk Hotel - In the Aeroplane Over the Sea
Bill Evans and Jim Hall - Undercurrent
Test Icicles - For Screening Purposes Only
Death From Above 1979 - You're a Woman, I'm a Machine

Basically, my criteria to make it on this list was:

Did the album spring immediately to mind?
How long have I been listening to this album and thoroughly enjoying it?
Is it really that fucking good?
Do I know pretty much all of the words to all of the songs on it?
Does it evoke strong memories?
Is it really that fucking good?

The first three on the list actually did spring immediately to mind when I thought about putting the list together, so they were of course going to make it on the list. I was actually listening to Might Oceans and it is what spurned me to make the list because I was thinking to myself "This album is really fucking good." I think the fact that I've already posted the majority of Pinkerton on my vox is a testament to how much I like it. Actually, I'm pretty sure that I've put up at least one song from every album on my list.

Oh, seems like I don't have anything from Good News, but that's easily remedied. I really love that album though. If I had to choose a top 5 out of that list, it would be in it.

Uh, things about the other albums...

Pinkerton, Good News, Commit This, and Wide Awake are all personal favorites because I relate to them way more than I probably should be able to. Wide Awake is also just a really beautiful album. In the Aeroplane Over the Sea really is that fucking good, so it is up there. It is also a beautiful, beautiful album. Songs for the Deaf is also that fucking good, along with it having a bunch of good memories tied to it. Undercurrent is by far my favorite jazz album, so it got to be in there. Not to mention, it is just an amazing album in general. DFA and Test Icicles are up there because they are also amazing. They're both heavyish bands that are also danceable and fun.

I wish I weren't so tired so I could describe these better. Maybe I will comeback tomorrow after I wake up and punch up these descriptions? Probably not.

Well, it's the week before finals. I officially have no free time now.

Two more weeks and I am done with this semester. I think it went alright too, for my first semester away from home at an actual university. I definitely could have studied more, and I could have applied myself more, but I'm not too worried about it. Next semester should be kind of interesting, I'll be getting the rest of my core classes out of the way (sans math related subjects), and I'll be dipping my toe into actual engineering classes. I am actually kind of excited about it.

This is about all I feel like typing right now, so I am going to go heat up some pizza and get back to doing math homework.

I was walking around Best Buy today, waiting for my mom to show up at the mall, so we could go get some lunch, when I decided to look at their CDs. More specifically, their jazz CDs. Now look, I'm not saying I was expecting anything substantial, as far as their selection was concerned, but when you have three rows worth of Kenny G's bullshit music, and only one row of John Coltrane, one row of Miles Davis (with only copies of his greatest hits and Birth of the Cool mind you (Not to say Birth of the Cool is a bad album, but it's pretty cliche is all)), and not even a single divider for Bill Evans or Thelonius Monk or Charles Mingus, something is fucked up. Sure Kenny G played the longest note or whatever, but I think he should have practiced making decent music instead. I guess I shouldn't get too bent out of shape, because I'm pretty sure everyone already knows that Best Buy is a terrible store, but I guess I just felt like beating [off] a dead horse. Not to mention, I am kind of sick, so I am kind of in a mood because of it.

One paper, two salvos of math homework, and my finals and I am done with this semester. Thank God. Someone remind me to never take two math classes at the same time again.
