What a great fucking song. Also, what a great fucking weekend. I guess I should say that this guy opened for Man Man, and he was pretty dang good. Two weeks.... Just two more weeks.

Is there a place where I can go
away from the snakes and the liars?
Down by the lake where the wild wind blows
free from the weight of desire

Holy shit holy shit holy shit. The Astronautalis show at Sluggo's was amazing. It was honestly the best show I've been to. Ever. And I have been to quite a few shows. If you have a chance to go see this guy perform, DO IT.

He was up on stage with Bleubird, and they just had hilarious banter going on the whole time. On stage they had a tikibar set up that one would sit behind and pour drinks while the other rapped. They were also reading terrible poetry in between songs from the Gulf Breeze High School's Literary Club's annual. It was great. Also, they were drinking Jameson whisky the whole time getting pretty drunk and rowdy towards the end. During the last song, Bleubird actually fell backwards off the stool he was sitting on. Andy's freestyles were pretty hilarious tonight too. One of them involved playing a prolapsed anus like a jawharp. I think that's all I have to say about that. Ahhhh! I can't get over how awesome it was. Seriously, GO SEE THEM.

Here are some pictures.

I think my favorite song of the night was probably "The Trouble Hunters". Although, "Meet Me Here Later" is an old favorite of mine.

Also, do the guy a favor and buy all of his albums. They are all awesome, and I could not recommend them more. Just look him up on Amazon or something.

I'm almost disappointed the show was so good because now everything else will pale in comparison (i.e. the Man Man show this weekend). However, if this weekend even goes a 1/4 as well as last weekend went, I'll be pretty happy anyways.

I have been eating SweeTarts and Peanut m&m's for the last couple of hours and drinking Mountain Dew out of a mason jar. The most progress I have made on this paper so far is reading the wiki article on the Scientific Revolution. This is something that I find relatively interesting, by the way, but the whole idea of having to put thoughts on it down on paper up on computer screen is very daunting for some reason. It only has to be a thousand words long which really isn't all that long, but I'm also finding that amount to be daunting as well. I guess it's just that it's been a while since I've had to write a paper of substance. Frankly, I'm concerned the ol' analytical part of my ticker will be a little rusty. I've been mainly in a straightforward, mathematical mindset lately due to my bright idea of taking Pre-Calc and Trig this semester. Don't get me wrong, it's not that I'm finding the classes hard, I'm just overwhelmed by having to do classload's worth of math homework a night. Ugh.

This paper makes me sad. The Islands make me happy, though. It's all about balance.

gonna make some plans
wait and see
turn it off
turn me on
open your eyes look around you
fuck what you heard
you were lied to

Also, it's been a few days since I've shaved, and thanks to some very subtle encouragement from a friend, I've decided to let it grow wild and free like the mustangs of the west. So, if you see me and I'm looking Scruffy McGruffy, now you know why.

How I wish, how I wish you were here
We're just two lost souls
Swimming in a fish bowl
Year after year
Running over the same old ground
What have we found?
The same old fears
Wish you were here.

Apartment And Things
Apartment And Things

I've been pretty bored today. Garrett is in Crestview and Chance is at work, so I've got the apartment to myself. Instead of using my free time productively, I decided to take some pictures of my stuff and of the apartment. I didn't take a lot of the pictures because it's kind of messy in the living area and in the kitchen right now. Not to mention, the majority of the people that probably care what our apartment looks like have already been here, so yeah.

Not a lot of things have been going on lately. I got a 95 on a history test I thought had gotten a C on. I guess the TA is pretty leniant with his grading, so that's good to know. I should probably be doing some math homework, but I'm feeling lazy. Instead I'll probably keep trying to learn the intro to "Johnny B. Goode". I've got the verse and the chorus riffs down, but this is the first time I've actually tried to learn a part with a lot of picking, so it's been slow going.

Back to the Future - Johnny B. Goode Scene

I tend to get the worst sleep on the weekends. There's always a party going on outside my window it seems. I always think about getting up and yelling at them about calling the cops, but that would probably jusr exacerbate things. Not to mention, I'm usually too tired to want to get up. When I eventually wake up the next day, I'm still tired from being woken up intermittenly while I slept, so I might as well have not slept at all. I think I left all of my earplugs at home with my drumset, so I guess it'll be a while before I get a decent night's sleep [on the weekend]. It's usually not so bad during the week (thankfully).

Blue Moon + leftover pasta = dinner? I think so. Good evening.
